中秋节的由来

　　人们在每年中国农历的八月十五庆祝中秋节。

　　The Mid-Autumn Festival is traditionally celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar calendar.

　　中秋节的起源可以追溯到中国古代，人们在向月亮表达敬意，也寓意对丰收的祈祷。

　　The Mid-Autumn Festival, dating back to ancient China, pays homage to the moon and good harvest.

　　“中秋节”的说法首次出现在一本2000多年撰写的书籍——《周礼》中。

　　The use of "mid-autumn" to describe the celebration first appeared in the Rites of Zhou, a book written more than 2,000 years ago.

　　关于这个节日的起源有很多传说。最的就是嫦娥奔月的故事，她因为吃了长生不老药，飞入天宫成为了月神。

　　There are also many tales around the origin of the festival. The most famous is about the Chang'e flying to the moon.

　　It's said that Chang'e flew to the Moon Palace, and became the goddess of the moon, after she took the elixir of immortality.

　　中秋节的习俗

　　在这天，每个家庭都团聚在一起，一家人共同观赏圆月。

　　It is a time for family members and loved ones to congregate and enjoy the full moon.

　　家人在中秋节分吃月饼，寓意全家团团圆圆。

　　During the festival, the sharing and eating of round mooncakes among family members signify the completeness and unity of families.

关于中秋节的传说

　　传说古时候，天空曾有10个太阳。一天，这10个太阳同时出现，酷热难挡。弓箭手后翌射下了其中9个太阳，拯救了地球上的生灵。他偷了长生不死药，却被妻子嫦娥偷偷喝下。

　　According to Chinese mythology, the earth once had 10 suns circling over it. One day, all 10 suns appeared together, scorching the earth with their heat. The earth was saved when a strong archer, Hou Yi, succeeded in shooting down 9 of the suns. Yi stole the elixir of life to save the people from his tyrannical rule, but his wife, Chang-E drank it.

　　嫦娥服下仙丹后身体飘离地面，一直飞到了月宫，还抓了玉兔作伴。从此她长生不老，但与丈夫永远分离了。所以说在中秋节这天抬头望月，有时能看到兔子在捣长生不老药。

　　After swallowing the elixir,Chang’e found herself floating to the sky because of the overdose. She grabbed a rabbit to keep her company, and finally landed on the moon. She then became immortal, but separated from her husband forever.So we say that if you look up at the moon on this day,you can sometimes see a rabbit making elixir.
